And no I don't think we ever had much chance of catching this in early testing, because:
* I didn't know some of the code being moved is only used on Nvidia. * Even after I started testing Nvidia in response to this bug and developing a fix, the problem is very subtle for me. Almost imperceptible other than the log messages.
