Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-applets
I have two detected and configured ethernet interfaces. however, the GNOME Network Monitor applet doesn't show either of them. It shows only loopback . There are two other entries - one is blank, the other has a weird character seen for unrecognized symbols. When I select any option other than lo, I get this "SIOCGIFFLAGS error: No such device". My ifconfig [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ifconfig eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:18:F3:6D:4B:17 inet addr:192.168.1.2 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:2604 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:2522 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:2556939 (2.4 MiB) TX bytes:346744 (338.6 KiB) Interrupt:23 Base address:0x6000 eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:17:31:2B:B0:85 inet addr:192.168.0.1 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) Interrupt:19 Base address:0xec00 lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:370 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:370 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:158274 (154.5 KiB) TX bytes:158274 (154.5 KiB) My lspci [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lspci | grep -i ethernet 00:07.0 Bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP61 Ethernet (rev a2) 01:06.0 Ethernet controller: Sundance Technology Inc / IC Plus Corp IC Plus IP100A Integrated 10/100 Ethernet MAC + PHY (rev 31) ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue Apr 3 22:05:31 2007 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.04 Uname: Linux mark2 2.6.20-13-generic #2 SMP Sat Mar 24 23:12:02 UTC 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux ** Affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- GNOME Network Monitor does not list detected network interfaces https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/102453 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-applets in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
