I will take a stab at this later today. Yesterday while searching a bit I may have encountered the reason these particular packages have a problem. I was doing a search and it may be that the packages having the problem I am seeing are all qt5 users. Could there be a problem between qt5 and the libgail under some circumstances? Is there a qt5 configuration file somewhere that might offer a way to tweak things?
