Thanks for the bug report. I too have noticed gnome-shell (from gdm's login screen) leaving crash files since the upgrade to 41. I was hoping we fixed all these in https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/40.5-1ubuntu2 but obviously not...
