Public bug reported: Please, consider backporting an important fix for "memory leak on descriptor pool reset with layout_size=0" into Ubuntu 21.04 Mesa. Without this fix, Metro Exodus and possibly other games cause system to hang or crash after playing for some time.
Here is a MR with the fix: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/10317 It is already staged to be backported into current stable Mesa releases and so it should be fine to apply it as a downstream patch for Mesa 21.0.1 in Ubuntu Hirsute. ** Affects: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: hirsute ** Also affects: hundredpapercuts Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags added: hirsute ** Description changed: Please, consider backporting an important fix for "memory leak on descriptor pool reset with layout_size=0" into Ubuntu 21.04 Mesa.
