You have been subscribed to a public bug: I know this is not a bug,
but in my opinion it is not very good for the usability of ubuntu. Everytime a passwort prompt (gksu/sudo) window opens the whole screen turns black and I can't do anything. I think this is not very good. Of couse it's important to let the user know that he is doing something critical and he should pay attention, but I think this is already done by the passwort prompt it self. So I think, the screen should not turn black if a passwort window comes. And whats even more worse: If you click on the shutdown icon in the upper right corner, the hole screen turns black, too! But why? Maybe I forgot to save my documents before I shutdown the computer. If the screen would not turn black, I could click on gedit and save it, and then click on shutdown. But in the situation as it is now, i have to click the shutdown menu away, save, and open it again. It's much more complicated. So in my opinion, we should change this for usability reasons. ** Affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- screen gets black on password and shutdown prompt https://beta.launchpad.net/bugs/96582 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
