Public bug reported: • Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS 64-bit • gedit 3.36.2-0ubuntu1
gedit used to have an option to change the number of recently-opened files in the Open dropdown button. Later, that option was removed (I don't know why), but we could still set it as follows (in this case, I've set it to 30, because I need a lot in my history): gsettings set org.gnome.gedit.preferences.ui max-recents 30 Unfortunately, even that has been taken away now, so there is no way to increase (or decrease, which some people say they need for confidentiality) the number of recent files listed. Please could this option be reinstated, because the current limit is too restrictive.
