@Gunnar, thanks for testing! The sleep is a workaround, not a proper fix though. I would guess that something in the gtk widgets used is taking a grab which prevents the shell to be able to displays it's dialog so the proper fix would be to try to understand if that's an event or something we need to wait on before doing the call to polkit. If I don't success to find a better fix I will upload the sleep workaround
