I have run Valgrind again, this time using Human theme (ubuntulooks), to eliminate the possibility that the problem is caused by a theme. I actually ran it twice. The first time was with Nautilus already running, just opening a new window. This test went as expected - it crashed and Valgrind did its job. The second, however, was with no previously open nautilus windows. This time it took a very long time to show anything (1-2 mins), and memcheck closed due to a segmentation fault. The logs are attached.
