I did several tries yesterday, but none of them worked. First I tried to remove the "emit" calls and the "addSignalMethods" in desktopGrid, just in case the problem was an incompatibility with the new class system in Gnome Shell 3.34. Also removed all the grabHelper calls, but also didn't work. The problem seems to be the text entry, that is not editable.
