Hi Daniel,
Sorry about the incomplete bug report. I had forgotten that I had turned
apport. I have now found a fix for the first part of my report. This has
reduced the noise level so that I can see the next part is definitely
not the same bug.
For the fist bug the relevant line from syslog is

This means that this bug is a duplicate of #1826604.
The other bug seems to be related to gdm-x-session so I raise it over
there. (After I have fixed apport!)
