Thanks! It appears your laptop only has an Nvidia GPU. Although an Intel GPU should be present, it's not detected. Most likely disabled in the BIOS. That should be OK...
Also your Xorg log is reporting that the Nvidia driver has successfully detected the internal display, which is 1920x1080 and is an LCD panel manufactured by Chimei. Your 'prewboot2.txt' seems to suggest maybe the remaining problem is just that Ubuntu doesn't know how to properly control the display backlight. Please run this command: find /sys/class/backlight/ > backlights.txt and send us the file 'backlights.txt'. ** Package changed: gdm3 (Ubuntu) => nvidia-graphics-drivers-418 (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-418 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830673 Title: [nvidia] startup bug To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-418/+bug/1830673/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
