Public bug reported:
the screen resolutoin (in system->administration) serves also to change
the orientation of the screen and a tick-box to indicate that this
should become the default value. if this box is ticked, nevertheless,
the change is not retained and the screen starts again in the appearance
it had before. the new orientation should become the default at startup.
