Public bug reported: Hi,
On Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga 3rd Gen and many other laptops there is a Validity fingerprint sensor with id [06cb:009a]. It is not in the supported drivers list, but I would love to see it amongst the supported ones. Here is a list with some of the models using this sensor: https://certification.ubuntu.com/catalog/component/usb/2448/06cb%3A009a/ Someone already began the process of reverse engineering the driver: https://github.com/nmikhailov/Validity90 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.10 Package: libfprint0 1:0.8.2-2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.18.0-13.14-generic 4.18.17 Uname: Linux 4.18.0-13-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.10-0ubuntu13.1 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Fri Dec 21 10:25:44 2018 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-11-30 (20 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.10 "Cosmic Cuttlefish" - Release amd64 (20181017.3) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: libfprint UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: libfprint (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug cosmic wayland-session -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to libfprint in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1809425 Title: [06cb:009a] Validity / Synaptic driver request To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libfprint/+bug/1809425/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
