@Daniel I did try without any extension. It was happening even then. So I put them back for comfort sake.
Also, how will I type the " top " command as I cannot type anything when the issues happen. It gets ok by itself after sometime ( without me doing anything ). The interesting part is that the mouse is working fine. It is not a total freeze. I can copy, cut and paste using the mouse.
