I have a similar issue but some slight differences. For example: gio copy file.log smb://1.10.2.1/folder/ gio: file:///home/user/file.log: Network dropped connection on reset
When I copy, I get this error. On an old Linux Mint, I had the same issue and rolling samba back to 4.3.9 fixed it.
