Public bug reported: Setup: I have two windows of the same application open, then I use its corresponding hotkey. Ubuntu-dock shows a preview of the windows, dash-to-dock extension cycles through the windows without showing any preview.
Problem: Ubuntu-dock behaviour slows down the usage of the dock for me, since I have to select the window with the arrow keys or the mouse, whereas dash-to-dock I just had to keep hitting the shortcut to select the desired window. This behaviour is not configurable with any parameter that I know of, the one closer would be "/org/gnome/shell/extensions/dash-to-dock/show- windows-preview true/false", which enables/disables the preview of windows on the contextual menu of the dock, not the hotkey. Solution/Proposal: In my opinion ubuntu-dock should either revert to the dash-to-dock behaviour, or better, include an additional parameter to configure this behaviour similar to scroll-action, shift-click-action, shift-middle-clock-action, to configure what to do on shortcut-action, for instance: cycle-windows, or show-preview ** Affects: gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1770405 Title: Hotkey pulls window preview instead of cyclying windows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock/+bug/1770405/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
