Could the eventual fix be cherry-picked for Ubuntu's GNOME 3.28? Merge requests 114 and 50 (gjs; upstream) are targeted for GNOME 3.30.0 (for example) yet presumably Ubuntu would want the fix in Ubuntu 18.04 rather than shipping with the leak?
