Public bug reported: Hi,
every now and then GDM/Gnome/X freezes when I logout. Then the background I had in GNOME and the mousecursor are still displayed, but nothing else. I can move the mouse around, but I _cannot_ do CTRL+Alt+Backspace. Funnily I can log in remotely by using gdm-chooser and get the gdm I run on this machine and everything works perfectly. When I try to restart gdm (e.g. using a remote shell) or killall X, the machine locks up and has to be resettet manually... greetings fabian My gdm.conf for always showing the chooser: [servers] 0=Chooser [server-Standard] name=Standard server command=/usr/X11R6/bin/X -br -audit 0 flexible=true [server-Terminal] name=Terminal server command=/usr/X11R6/bin/X -br -audit 0 -terminate flexible=false handled=false [server-Chooser] name=Chooser server command=/usr/X11R6/bin/X -br -audit 0 flexible=false chooser=true ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- gdm/gnome freezes/locks up after logout https://beta.launchpad.net/bugs/90340 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
