Public bug reported: Upon physical disconnect/connect of a monitor (connected via HDMI) shell crashes with signal 11.
$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 17.10 Release: 17.10 $ apt-cache policy gnome-shell gnome-shell: Installed: 3.26.2-0ubuntu0.1 Expected is that physical disconnect/connect of a monitor will not influence the desktop environment. Note that the crash file was generated and according to /var/crash content was uploaded, when ubuntu-bug triggered by existence of crash file started up and I agreed with it. Pressing "Continue" button in ubuntu-bug did not bring me to Launchpad (yet another bug???) for providing details, therefore I've used "ubuntu-bug gnome-shell" instead.
