hi sebastien. 1.) ssh is dead as is the complete ip stack. see the syslog attachment.
2.) moving away /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gs- plugins-11/libgs_plugin_fwupd.so will open gnome-software and is a workaround (btw. if one closes gnome-software via "X" it does close the window but the process lingers forever ...) 3.) after i saw that gnome-software had a problem with opening the USB mouse i tried to look for the device via lsusb -v ... where things got interesting. lsusb -v works as user but as root it crashes the machine too - so this indeed looks like a kernel issue (attaching some machine related info) ** Attachment added: "syslog via ssh" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1726707/+attachment/4993742/+files/syslog_crash -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-software in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1726707 Title: gnome-software crashes machine hard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1726707/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
