Fix is in lp:~ubuntu-desktop/gnome-software/ubuntu and ppa:ubuntu- desktop/gnome-software (3.26.1-0ubuntu2~ppa1). Tested by installing moon-buggy (crashes with archive version, fixed with new version). Awaiting QA confirmation before release.
The fix is quite simple - it was a NULL pointer access accessing a variable that got moved in the fix for bug 1718170. I think this is a good candidate for uploading pre-release.
