Public bug reported: Clean install of artful with all updates installed. I tried to close an application with ALT+F4 and found myself in a console. Turns out sometimes the keyboard gets messed up, so ALT+F keys don't do what they should, but switches between consoles. No, my CTRL key isn't stuck down.
I have seen this on 16.04 installs running GNOME Shell, but never seen it on Unity on the same install. Workaround to undo it:- sudo kbd_mode -s ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 17.10 Package: gnome-shell 3.24.3-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.10.0-26.30-generic 4.10.17 Uname: Linux 4.10.0-26-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.6-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Wed Aug 2 21:11:16 2017 DisplayManager: gdm3 GsettingsChanges: b'org.gnome.desktop.interface' b'gtk-im-module' b"'gtk-im-context-simple'" InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-08-02 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 17.10 "Artful Aardvark" - Alpha amd64 (20170712) SourcePackage: gnome-shell UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug artful wayland-session -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1708271 Title: Keyboard randomly switches mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1708271/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
