Public bug reported:

After the screen is locked, one normally swipes the screen up and types
the password into the password field that is shown. Sometimes, the
password field resets the typed text every second (as if the lockscreen
is reloaded). Subsequently, when you finish typing your password, the
beginning of the password is missing and unlocking fails repeatedly.

Workaround: Press Ctrl+Alt+F1 (login screen), click your user account
and type the password.
