Public bug reported: Steps to reproduce: - write (or paste, or load) a text containing the string "maría" - hit Ctrl+F - in the search box, type "maria"
Expected: should find the string "maría" in the text, because í and i only differ by an accent. This is the way it used to work, and it is the way every decent editor works Observed: doesn't find the matching string unless you type it exactly with the same accents. I already reported this upstream at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=760810 However, they'll probably tell me that I'm using a too old version. - Please check whether it is already fixed in a later version upstream - if so, release the fixed version in Ubuntu - if not, either patch it or immediately roll back to the version without the issue. This makes ctrl+F unusable.
