There are no logs here which would show what led to the bad state of libpam-systemd, and after your dist-upgrade the package is now installed fine, so we lost the evidence of what went wrong. You apparently used "apt-get upgrade" before, which doesn't write any further logs (such as the update manager), so I'm afraid there's nothing else we can do here. Thanks!
