Public bug reported: When a program itself calls gdk_set_program_class(), passing --class on the command line is a no-op.
Gnome-terminal does this to change it's WM_CLASS from gnome-terminal- server to gnome-terminal. Many people use --class in a custom desktop file to use profiles as applications. While this is not needed in newer versions of gnome-terminal (it has --app-id now), it makes sense to support this for backwards compatibility. ** Affects: gtk Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: gtk+3.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #747634 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=747634 ** Also affects: gtk via https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=747634 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Branch linked: lp:~larsu/gtk/lp1443273 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+3.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1443273 Title: gdk_set_program_class breaks --class To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gtk/+bug/1443273/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
