This is no Evince Bug. It looks like poppler can't access to this font, but normally this means that the font is nos properly installed, which would be a distribution bug. So in summary, first make sure the font is correctly installed and if so, then file a bug in poppler's bugzilla. Update: It looks properly installed according to what I get from this shell prompt excerpt as a normal user: $ ls -l /usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/fonts/opentype/public/tex-gyre/texgyreheros-regular.otf -rw-rw-r-- 1 root root 133600 Nov 3 2009 /usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/fonts/opentype/public/tex-gyre/texgyreheros-regular.otf $ wc /usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/fonts/opentype/public/tex-gyre/texgyreheros-regular.otf 2160 2926 133600 /usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/fonts/opentype/public/tex-gyre/texgyreheros-regular.otf $ I also tried replacing this file with fonts found on www.fontspace.com/gust-e-foundry/texgyreheros and got the same problem.
