I am using Ubuntu 14.04, Shotwell 0.18.0-0ubuntu4 and this problem still occures. I tried to backtrace the problem but I am not sure if this helps since Shotwell actually does not crash or freeze. Only publishing window vanishes. Also if we start Shotwell via terminal and try add another account this can be seen in the output:
