Thanks for reporting this bug and help in making Ubuntu better. This is
still present in Ubuntu 14.04 with Rhythmbox 3.0.1. I have filed a but
upstream, but I think there may be a rationale behind this notification.
Imagine that you are playing music, and you mute for some reason the
music. If you close Rhythmbox, there will be music still playing in the
background. But if there is not music playing Rhythmbox will close for
good, so the notification is telling you that this is the case. It is
different with Skype or Firefox, there's never anything going on in the
background when you close them. I think this is what they are going to
answer upstream about this bug.
