@Simon I have tried Sound Juicer 3.4.0 and it no longer provides a way to adjust MP3 ripping parameters, at least not via the GUI. Currently I'm using Asunder 2.1 because my wife thinks it provides a richer sounding rip than Rubyripper 0.6.2. Both Asunder and Rubyripper provide control over the ripping parameters. Granted, my ripping tools may be somewhat down rev. as I am on Ubuntu 12.04
