I have now tested your test-tmpl.ps file and dine some fixes on the pstopdf, pdftopdf, and pdftops filters. Now I get correct results with it. The fix will get into Ubuntu with the release of cxups-filters 1.0.43. Please test when the package gets available in Trusty (use a live CD/USB stick or a virtual machine if you do not have Trusty installed).
