This should be backported to 12.04 (you know, the stable LTS ubuntu). It's a serious user experience bug. I accidentally hit show desktop (why does alt-tab even have "show desktop" by included by default??), only to have my large file transfer irretrievably disappear. Wacky behaviour like this puts people right off Unity.
