Could you run "dpkg -S /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libbluecurve.so"?
The backtrace show it's trying to open that file which is not shipping
on a standard Ubuntu installation, if you are trying to use a binary
from an another distribution or lacking that file that's not an Ubuntu
bug
