[Safely Remove] function = eject + REMOVE POWER. It's the Remove Power function that is vitally important. Disconnecting ANY electronic device with power applied is dangerous. As noted in the Launchpad reference Windoz and other Linux Distros (example SUSE & Mint) have this feature.
