After some study, the default window placement is done by compiz, which apply a "smart" policy to "avoid overlapping other windows on screen as much as it can". (http://wiki.compiz.org/Plugins/Place).
When put window in corner, it could prevent futher further window overlapping. That's why it currently to be. If you like some other Placement Mode, you can 1. install compizconfig-settings-manager (sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager) 2. run ccsm 3. in filter, key in "place", and the placement icon appear in the right. 4. double click the place icon. 5. made change to check what other mode you like. >From my perspective, other modes that compiz provide are not good enough. A new project to enhance compiz place plugin might be needed to make it better. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1071449 Title: when i open terminal , it wont open in the middle of the screen , it opens at the corner and i cant move it thank you To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1071449/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
