In case it was not obvious above: running apps in 12.10 never appear in the launcher bar. Running or minimized. (Not referring to the workspace boxes at the lower right of the bar, but to the entire white bar at the bottom, left of the workspace boxes). Not present when an app started, and do not appear at any time, so when one minimizes (say a terminal session) the terminal session is not visible on the desktop anywhere with Gnome Classic.
