It seems this bug is be fixed in Ubuntu 12.10 since September 21 (but exists in LTS release) - gnome-disk-utility 3.6.0 was uploaded into Ubuntu Quantal, see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-disk- utility/+changelog
