Public bug reported:

An odd behavior in FTP nautilus , not shared by other systems connecting
to the same FTP server is files with apparently proper file permissions
are not showing up in the nautilus display.

The behavior is consistent after reboot as are the files not being
shown. Apparently upon reaching a certain point in the file listing the
remainder simply are not displayed. Files not displayed include text
files (.php), binaries ,and sub-directories

These are by no means large file listings either, having perhaps less
than 100 entries.

Other systems (Mac in this case) were able to display all the files
,which leads me to believe this to be a bug relating to nautilus or one
of it's sub-components involved in FTP based interactions.
