As I wrote early: "I'm using English (default) and Russian layouts with toggle by "Caps" key. I've tried other toggle buttons (e.g., Ctrl+Shift) and I've checked xkb-data version 2.5-1ubuntu1 (precise) and 2.5-1ubuntu1.3 (precise-proposed). Both are affected." xkb-data in precise-proposed still has the version 2.5-1ubuntu1.3. - Nothing changed during last two weeks.
I found a way to reproduce the issue: I'm using USB keyboard. Disconnect the keyboard's cable and reconnect it back always leads to override of "~/.gconf/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/" settings by mentioned in "/etc/default/keyboard". Attempt to change settings via GnomeControlCenter works until the next reconnection of keyboard (or reboot). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1022488 Title: [region]: does not modify /etc/default/keyboard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1022488/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
