Binary package hint: gedit
since the update to edgy, gedit takes roughly 1 minute to start. I am
using mainly remote files (ftp://, ssh:// at most).
when i open gedit the first time after logging into my session, i will
be prompted to enter the master password for the keyring (mind you, this
is for a blank document). I suspect that gedit is then trying to get
information on the remote files in the "recently used files".
This is particularly annoying because I use gedit as the quick, simple
editor for doing changes. However, currently I wil lstart up an IDE
because it is faster even for simple jobs.
