More info - really, really want to get around this bug, as I need evolution in my company to be able to use the exchange server there. I currently use gnome3, and I actually quite like the user interface except for only a very few things that one obviously cannot change. But then gnome 3 seems to depend on mono now, and that's really yuck!
In my desperation I tried lxde and found out an interesting aspect. In lxde evolution works, unless you select the oxygen-gtk style for the user interface. Then I get the exact same lockups in evolution as described above. As in KDE the oxygen-gtk style is also used for gnome applicatons (afaik), it seems that evolution has problems with this style or that the style causes problems in evolution. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1007133 Title: Evolution locks up under KDE in Kubuntu 12.04 when setting an alarm on an appointment To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/1007133/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
