My solution: install dconf-tools, open dconf-editor, go to org.gnome.gedit.plugins.terminal, uncheck use-theme-colors. I also changed background-color to #f2f1f0. Hope this works. If not, try changing the colors of the actual terminal and try again the dconf solution.
