So, kind of Triaged for gnome-bluetooth, since it's pretty clear what we're missing is some kind of hostnamed helper for the hostname, which will also affect the bluetooth device name. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control- center/+bug/962369
Also, this happens to demonstrate a bug in bluez, since it doesn't appear to follow the settings in /etc/bluetooth/main.conf; where the "rule" for the hostname is set. The values are simply ignored and we should fix that. Seems to me like a pretty simple thing to fix too, if someone wants to hack at bluez :) ** Also affects: bluez (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: bluez (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: bluez (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: gnome-bluetooth (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Triaged ** Changed in: gnome-bluetooth (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre (mathieu-tl) ** Changed in: bluez (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre (mathieu-tl) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-bluetooth in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/837196 Title: Cannot change bluetooth name To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-bluetooth/+bug/837196/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
