In my original report ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome- settings-daemon/+bug/990695 )
Observed process use 100% + CPU utilization on one core for more than 30 minutes. Memory grew from about 200 MB to 390 MB during this 30 minute period. Process status was reported as "Sleeping/futex_wait_queme_me". However, as soon as I typed 'ubuntu-bug' in the terminal it switched to Running ~ and then dropped its CPU usage to 60% and gave back 100MB of memory. Then while typing this comment here.... it went back up to 102% and started consuming memory again. See attached screenshot It could be the case that I used [CTRL ALT PRTSCRN] to take the screenshot - which made it calm down for a moment before it started going all berserk again. I have not been able to replicate the phenomena since my original report on 2012-04-28. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/969359 Title: gnome-settings-daemon consumes 100% cpu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/969359/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
