Have tested this bug in 12.04 and can confirm that it exists in this release.
If screen lock activates whilst hovering over a drop down element (calender, sound, etc), the screen will unlock without requiring authentication. Unlike 11.10, however, the user will be asked for a password after a brief period of time.
