Public bug reported: 1 week before release of precise the problem arose that I am unable to log into my desktop with unity 3d (in the up to date beta2 install. Before this it worked well since 15 feb. I have tried it with the guest account to make sure it is not related to some setting in my own account.
When I try, I first see the wallpaper , then it turns black. I only see the mouse pointer and am able to move it around. When I check top in a console I see that compiz is going 100% CPU. After a while a crash dialog appears telling me compiz has crashed. I have erased the xorg.conf, reinstalled the drivers etc to no avail. Everything up to date on 28-04-2012 The system 12.04 is running on a nvidia 6150 GPU using the latest nvidia drivers. Unity that came with 12.04 release, latest nvidia as of 28-04-2012 any other stuff can be posted on request. Unity 2d works ok. ** Affects: shotwell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to shotwell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990730 Title: Unity 3d will not work anymore with nvidia 6150 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/990730/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
