Is it just about permissions? Can anyone of you guys confirm the following successful dnd action?
1) Place an archive on your desktop (i.e. named as 'archive.tar.gz') 2) Open a terminal and cd right to the desktop 3) Type: sudo file-roller archive.tar.gz 4) Then drag and drop to the desktop This worked in my case.
