'whohas' revealed some interesting packaging issues in recent evince releases:

Done Selected version '3.2.0-0ubuntu1' (Ubuntu:11.10/oneiric [all]) for 'evince-common' Selected version '3.2.0-0ubuntu1' (Ubuntu:11.10/oneiric [i386]) for 'evince' Selected version '3.2.0-0ubuntu1' (Ubuntu:11.10/oneiric [i386]) for 'libevince3-3' because of 'evince' Selected version '0.16.7-2ubuntu2' (Ubuntu:11.10/oneiric [i386]) for 'libpoppler-glib6' because of 'libevince3-3' The following extra packages will be installed: libevince3-3 libnautilus-extension1 libpoppler-glib6 libpoppler13 The following NEW packages will be installed: libnautilus-extension1 libpoppler-glib6 libpoppler13 The following packages will be DOWNGRADED: evince evince-common libevince3-3 0 upgraded, 3 newly installed, 3 downgraded, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
