Public bug reported: How to reproduce (see attached file too):
- open file manager (nautilus) window (e.g., Places->Home folder) and maximize the window - have only this nautilus window opened - create some folders (like 5) in a test folder, with large (but not too much) names - navigate do the deepest folder. It should display correctly on the navigation bar. - now click on the left pointing arrow button on the navigation bar. The last folder should disappear from the nav. bar, but the right pointing arrow button should become active. - clicking on the right arrow button should close your nautilus windows (it maybe necessary to repeat these last two steps a few times) Additional notes: - I could not reproduce the crash with unmaximized window - I could not determine the number of arrow clicking needed to crash. But it always crashed with one or few clicks. - having other file manager windows opened seems to increase the number of arrow clicks needed to close the windows (but it eventually close *all* of them, wich is worse) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: nautilus 1:2.32.2.1-0ubuntu13 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-13.55-generic 2.6.38.8 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-13-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Feb 23 12:07:55 2012 EcryptfsInUse: Yes ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/nautilus InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Release i386 (20110427.1) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=pt_BR:en LANG=pt_BR.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: nautilus UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) XsessionErrors: (gimp-2.6:5632): GLib-WARNING **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.28.6/./glib/goption.c:2132: ignoring no-arg, optional-arg or filename flags (8) on option of type 0 ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug apport-lpi i386 natty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/939532 Title: Navigating on folders with appropriatedly long names will crash nautilus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/939532/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
